Mike Carney (b. 1973, Warrington, UK) lives and works in Wirral, UK.

ARTIST STATEMENT

Mike Carney’s drawings and paintings represent the evolution of studies in visual and aural abstraction. Inspired by the textures and rhythms of experimental music, Carney utilises an elemental, process-led approach to making, culminating in work that is meditative and hallucinatory. Shape, form and colour coalesce in monolithic, amorphous sculptural spectrums and gradients evocative of a kaleidoscopic, preternatural geology.
